Bhadrakali Koilakh Devi

Madhubani ,earlier a part of 'Darbhanga Raj', is the heart of Mithilanchal. It is the birth place of Kālidāsa the "Shakespeare of Sanskrit Literature, and Vidyapati, the greatest poet of the Maithili language. Kamla and Koshi are two famous river of Madhubani. Madhubani is famous for its folk art popularly called as 'Madhubani paintings' or 'Mithila Paintings, 'Paan' and 'Makhana (fox nut or Euryale ferox'. Madhubani is also famous for its marriage fair called 'Sabhagachhi', or Saurath Sabha where families come to find fit grooms for brides. Rajnagar Bihar is the nearest town to Madhubani, which is famous for ruins of the Navlakha Palace (one of the famous palaces of Maharaja of Darbhanga, that was destroyed in earthquake in 1934.
